Victorian Wool Waistcoat

A lovely late 19th-century black wool ladies waistcoat. This piece blends the shaping of a corset with the silhouette of a fitted waistcoat.

It features steel boning in its interior, decorative brass buttons, and hidden hook-and-eye closure for a secure fit. The waist comes to a sharp point (or v-shape), a signature of the period's elongated silhouette.

Condition: The good news is that it is wearable and timeless. The lace around the edges of the bodice is loose, ripped, and coming off in some areas (see photos). The interior has wear, some of the steel boning is showing but does not affect the wearability of the piece. The buttons have some tarnishing and the bottom hook-eye closure has been replaced with a newer one. There is more wear that is difficult to cite, so please look at photos and know you are buying a piece well over 100 years old.

Sizing: I would say it best fits an xs. See photos for measurements.
