18th Century Shepherdess Silk Embroidery Georgian Era Églomisé Frame
An 18th century Georgian silk embroidery depicting a shepherdess and young boy against a pastoral scene. The sky, and faces of the shepherdess and boy were hand drawn and painted. The embroidery sits behind reverse painted glass (églomisé) and frame, both of which are original. The piece hangs from a loop at the top of the frame. Backing has since been replaced.
Condition: Wear to edges of the frame. A piece of the back paper has been ripped. Slight water stain in background (painter's error)
