Finding wooden shoe snuff boxes can be quite challenging, and snuff boxes crafted from horn are extremely rare...
For your consideration is an early 19th century (Scottish?) snuff box fashioned into a shoe out of a horn of what was likely a ram. Featuring a silver scalloped edge hinged opening.
The box measures 2.25" in height with the base of the shoe being approx. 1.10".
Condition: Tarnishing to the silver top. Small crack on the side. Please see photos. Otherwise, amazing condition for its age.
